As I was thinking about painting and being inspired by the stunning view of Emerald Bay in front of me, my reverie was rudely interrupted by a frightening reality. Several thoughtless families with many small children hopped the rocks across the stream and began playing on the slick granite slab pictured to the left in my painting. This was just a few feet from the mighty Eagle Falls that drops down to the lake. Just one slip by the children wading on the slippery shallow slope and there could be no recovery. We sat and prayed for their safety and thankfully God answered our prayer. Now, whenever I view the painting, I can focus only on the wonder of that gorgeous site.
