It was a long and wonderful
day of finding paintable subjects all along the Carson Pass in the
High Sierras. We arrived at Lake Tahoe in the early evening and
decided to scout out the west side of the lake. The look out to
Emerald Bay above Eagle Falls has always been a favorite painting
site. This evening, the rim of the mountains cast a dramatic shadow
over the entire foreground producing tone and color patterns that
were an inspiration.
