I have produced many paintings
along the banks of the Kaweah River in Sequoia National Park.
All of them have been from summer visits. Since I was picking
up some work from a show I had judged in Visalia in early spring,
I decided to go on up the mountain to the park just east of town.
I was amazed to discover that the snow was very deep and treacherous
to walk on. We drove through with high embankments of snow
on both sides of the road except for the occasional break where
bridges crossed streams. “Coldwater Creek” is
an impression of several scenic breaks on this trek through the
beautiful High Sierra Park.
