With each new turn in my hike up the Lyell Fork of the Tuolumne River, I encounter a different mood expressed in the running water; at times fierce and turbulent then it will become deep and mysterious. This day I came across a broad flat slab of shallow water; it was so calm and inviting. The sense of peace and well-being that I felt refreshed my soul and reminded me that God is still in control.
