The genesis to this painting was somewhat unique for me. I was invited to show my work at a Lake Tahoe gallery before I had any images of the area. Some twenty years ago I had received several snap shots of the Tahoe region from a friend. I thought this scene, from the Cisco Grove, would be fine to begin my series of paintings from the lake. The painting is loosely based on the splendid composition of this old snap shot.
