Yosemite's high country is only a three hour trip from our home. It's pristine meadows and crystal clear streams have been a magnet for the Petersen family every summer. On one visit, our children were able to wade mid-stream a couple of miles up from the bridge on the edge of the meadow. They came to this scenic site on the Lyell Fork of the Tuolumne River. It proved to be the perfect spot to run and wade, to slide and to swim. They frolicked in the water for several hours. I sat there inspired by the stunning patterns in the shallow stream and on its rocky banks. Finally we all hiked back to camp exhilarated by the wonder and beauty of this "High Sierra Playland.
