I am very familiar with the rocky outcropping on this quiet foothill creek in the Sierra Foothills. I think I have painted it from every angle in the past. It’s less than an hour from home and in the spring it has all the elements I love in a landscape. When it came time to produce a DVD of my methods, I immediately thought of returning to this site just off the road on the way to Copperopolis. When we arrived to take pictures for the painting, my cinematographer exclaimed, “It looks just like a Petersen watercolor painting”.
