The Kaweah River slowly
meanders through summertime boulders and over tiny pebbles at Camp
Lodgepole in beautiful Sequoia National Park. The scene dramatically
changes as you begin to hike upstream. The boulders grow to giant
granite slabs ‚ the pebbles become river rocks rolled into neatly
formed bars by the springtime currents. Falls, Cascades and Rapids
amplify the steep slopes above the campsite. These diagonal contours
present an exciting departure from the predictable flat landscapes
lower down.
