My daughter and her family spent a late October day in Yosemite and came home raving over the Fall colors in the valley.  It was time for me to return to the High Country following a series of coastal compositions.  Their enthusiasm for the gorgeous sites prompted me to drop my brushes and head for the hills.
After lunch at the lodge my wife and I walked down to the Merced River and discovered it was just a small quiet stream.  The water reflected the crystal clear day with the brilliant raking light on the granite walls and setting the translucent color of the leaves aglow.  Everywhere we walked was watercolor compositions.  What a day!
